Gabriel Arenas Ruiz

Gabriel started dancing in Liège at the age of six. He studied Humanities and Choreography at the Académie Grétry under the supervision of Edith Quignon. In 2007, he joined the Rudra Béjart School Lausanne, for one year, before becoming company member of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne in September 2008.


He performed lead roles in ballets from Maurice Béjart like Brel et Barbara (Brel), Le Mandarin merveilleux, Nutcracker (M), The Magic Flute (Tamino), 7 danses grecques, Don Giovanni, Wien, Wien, nur du Allein and Ballet for Life. He took part in the creations of Gil Roman’s AriaLà où sont les oiseaux, Anima BluesKyôdaï3 danses pour Tony, Impromptu pour Peralada and t ’M et variations…. He also performed the main role in Syncope. In 2017, he participated in the creation of Dixit, a piece written and directed by Marc Hollogne with choreographies by Maurice Béjart and Gil Roman. In 2019, he performed one of the lead roles in the creation of Gil Roman’s Tous les hommes presque toujours s’imaginent.
