Gabriel Arenas Ruiz

Gabriel started dancing in Liège at the age of six. He studied Humanities and Choreography at the Académie Grétry under the supervision of Edith Quignon. In 2007, he joined the Rudra Béjart School Lausanne, for one year, before becoming company member of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne in September 2008.

He performed lead roles in ballets from Maurice Béjart like Brel et Barbara (Brel), Ballet for Life, Nutcracker (M), Le Mandarin merveilleux, and The Magic Flute (Tamino). He took part in the creations of Gil Roman’s AriaAnima BluesKyôdaï3 danses pour Tony, Impromptu pour Peralada, t ’M et variations… and Tous les hommes presque toujours s’imaginent – in which he had one of the lead roles. He also performed the principal role in Syncope. In 2017, he participated in the creation of Dixit, a piece written and directed by Marc Hollogne with choreographies by Maurice Béjart and Gil Roman.
