Immersion in the rehearsals of our June 2024 performances

Every week, the Béjart Ballet Lausanne unveils its upcoming performances from June 14th to 20th at the Théâtre de Beaulieu in Lausanne.

Exploration in BBL Studio 1: Hamlet sees Slovenian choreographer Valentina Turcu explore the human madness and passion that fuel Shakespeare’s play. After Swan Song, composed for the BBL in 2016, Italian choreographer Giorgio Madia celebrates artistic freedom with Rhapsody in blue by letting himself be carried away by Gershwin’s musical score. Finally, back to the Master in the end with Boléro: one of Maurice Béjart‘s most captivating choreographic pieces, set to the composition of Maurice Ravel.

At the company’s invitation, Tommy Pascal, former BBL dancer turned videographer, followed the daily work of the company, capturing from his camera almost all of the work that will be presented from June 14 to 20 at the Théâtre de Beaulieu in Lausanne in world premiere. At the heart of the director’s filmed rehearsals were the creations of two guest artists, both former dancers of the company.
