Press day

On April 18, the Béjart Ballet Lausanne had the pleasure to welcome the Belgian press in its studios in Lausanne. The media La Libre Belgique, WTM Nieuws, RTBF, VRT Journaal, Gazet van Antwerpen, the agency BELGA and the producer Music Hall travelled to Switzerland for the occasion. During this journey, more than fifteen interviews were realised about the last creation of Gil Roman, t ’M et variations… which the journalists had the chance to discover through the rehearsals. On live, the music from Citypercussion and the dancers’ movements composed a privileged moment.

t ‘M et variations… is Maurice’s heritage as I see it, and how it continues to live thanks to this organism that is the company.” The artistic director created this ballet ten years after Maurice Bejart’s demise, in a ballet where the movements become words addressed to Maurice.  Fifty minutes of pure dancing, with series of variations on the theme of Love and the inner necessity of Dance.

From May 18 to 20, the BBL will be in the impressive Forest National in Brussels. This venue can welcome up to 8,000 spectators. It will be the first comeback of the Company since its last shows of the Ninth Symphony in 2016. This year, t ’M et variations…, followed by Boléro by Maurice Béjart are on the program. An event especially composed by Gil Roman for Brussels will also rhythm the performances.
