At the helm of the company, Julien Favreau in turn claims the preservation of the entrusted heritage and its authenticity, while bringing a contemporary energy to it.<\/p>\n
Winner of the Prix des \u00c9toiles de Ballet 2000<\/em> in Cannes in 2006 and the Premio Positano “Leonide Massine”<\/em> per la danza in 2012, Julien Favreau studied classical and contemporary dance at the \u00c9cole Nationale de Musique et de Danse de La Rochelle under the direction of Colette Milner.<\/p>\n He joined the \u00c9cole-Atelier Rudra B\u00e9jart<\/a> in 1994. The following year, noticed by Maurice B\u00e9jart, he joined the company. From then on, the Master entrusted him with significant roles created specifically for him, in productions such as\u00a0Zarathoustra, Le chant de la danse<\/a>, L’Amour-la Danse<\/a>, Elton Berg,<\/a><\/em>\u00a0La Route de la Soie, Enfant-Roi <\/em>and Nutcracker<\/a><\/em>. In ballet revivals, he was given several key roles such as in The Rite of Spring<\/a>, Ballet for Life<\/a>, Serait-ce la Mort ?<\/a>, Brel et Barbara<\/a>, The Magic Flute<\/a>, Dibouk, Le Teck<\/em> and Bhakti<\/em>.<\/p>\n Under the artistic direction of Gil Roman from 2007 onwards, he took on soloist roles in the BBL’s repertoire, starting with the famous role of “La M\u00e9lodie” in Bolero<\/a>,<\/em> but also in Light<\/a>, Le Concours<\/a>, Le Marteau sans ma\u00eetre<\/a>, Sonate \u00e0 3, B\u00e9jart f\u00eate Maurice<\/a>, The Ninth Symphony<\/a>, Un cygne d’autrefois se souvient que c’est lui<\/a><\/em> and Wien, Wien, nur du Allein<\/em><\/a>. Julien also participated in Gil Roman’s creations, such as Casino des Esprits<\/a>, Anima Blues<\/a>, Aria<\/a>, Tomb\u00e9es de la derni\u00e8re pluie<\/a>, t’M et variations…<\/a><\/em> and Tous les hommes presque toujours s’imaginent<\/em><\/a>. He was featured in the works of BBL\u2019s guest choreographers such as Andonis Foniadakis, Sthan Kabar-Louet<\/a>, Tony Fabre<\/a>, Marc Hollogne, Yuka Oishi<\/a> and Valentina Turcu<\/a>.<\/p>\n Julien Favreau is frequently invited to international galas and was the subject of a documentary directed by Michel Dami in 2005, \u201cJulien Favreau, en attendant Zarathoustra\u201d, for the T\u00e9l\u00e9vision Suisse Romande.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" \u00a0Julien Favreau has been part of the B\u00e9jart Ballet Lausanne for thirty years.
