Heir to the innovative spirit of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/company\/maurice-bejart\/\">Maurice B\u00e9jart<\/a>, the BBL continues its journey today under the artistic direction of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/company\/julien-favreau\/\"> Julien Favreau<\/a>.<\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Once an emblematic soloist of Maurice B\u00e9jart\u2019s repertoire, Julien Favreau, now artistic director, embodies the continuity of a visionary body of work while infusing it with a sensitive modernity firmly rooted in the present. Through his artistic vision, the company affirms its commitment to preserving the master\u2019s legacy while opening up new choreographic horizons.<\/p>\n<p>Faithful to Maurice B\u00e9jart\u2019s wish to make dance accessible to all, the company performs on the world\u2019s greatest stages, captivating ever-growing audiences with the expressive and universal power of its art. Its repertoire, at the heart of which are emblematic works such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/ballet\/le-sacre-du-printemps\/\"><em>The Rite of Spring<\/em><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/ballet\/bolero\/\"><em>Bol\u00e9ro<\/em><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/ballet\/ixe-symphonie\/\"><em>The Ninth Symphony<\/em><\/a>, and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/ballet\/ballet-for-life\/\">Ballet for Life<\/a>, <\/em>emains vibrant and alive.<\/p>\n<p>From 2007 to 2024, Gil Roman, then Artistic Director of the BBL, enriched this repertoire with numerous creations and guided the company into a new era of transmission and renewal. The B\u00e9jart Ballet Lausanne opened its doors to guest choreographers from diverse backgrounds \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/collaboration\/choreographers\/yuka-oishi\/\">Yuka Oishi<\/a>, Valentina Turcu, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/collaboration\/choreographers\/julio-arozarena-2\/\">Julio Arozarena<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/collaboration\/choreographers\/tony-fabre\/\">Tony Fabre<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/collaboration\/choreographers\/christophe-garcia\/\">Christophe Garcia<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/collaboration\/choreographers\/alonzo-king\/\">Alonzo King<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/collaboration\/choreographers\/giorgio-madia\/\">Giorgio Madia<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/collaboration\/choreographers\/joost-vrouenraets\/\">Joost Vrouenraets<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/collaboration\/choreographers\/sthan-kabar-louet\/\">Sthan Kabar-Lou\u00ebt<\/a> \u2014 whose distinctive universes revealed the dancers\u2019 versatility and further shaped the artistic identity of the BBL.<\/p>\n<p>Today, under the artistic vision of Julien Favreau, the B\u00e9jart Ballet Lausanne remains a space of creation and transmission where the legacy of Maurice B\u00e9jart coexists with today\u2019s choreographic voices.
