He trained in dance both in Brussels and Li\u00e8ge, Belgium. In 1981, he joined the Karlsruhe Ballet under Germinal Casado\u2019s direction where he stayed until 1983. Then, he became soloist with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/company\/maurice-bejart\/\">Maurice B\u00e9jart<\/a>\u2019s Ballet du XX\u00e8me Si\u00e8cle. Six years later, he joined the Sadler\u2019s Wells Royal Ballet of London as principal dancer for a year before moving to Basel in 1990 where he was principal dancer with the Basler Ballet.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->In 1991, he joined the Compa\u00f1\u00eda Nacional de Danza as guest principal dancer. He interpreted, until 1997, numerous of Nacho Duato\u2019s works \u00a0and other internationally renowned choreographers, including Jir\u00ed Kyli\u00e1n, Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe and Hans van Manen. During the same period, he choreographed two works for the CND Workshop. In 1997, he set numerous of Nacho Duato\u2019s ballet for many companies, including the Royal Ballet, the Royal Swedish Ballet, the Staatsoper Berlin, Boston Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, amongst others. In addition, he created different works for IT Dansa and la Joven Compa\u00f1\u00eda de Carmen Roche. In October 1999, he led a new project by becoming co-artistic director of the Compa\u00f1\u00eda Nacional de Danza 2. He created six choreographies for the company: <em>Suite Holberg<\/em> (2000), <em>Chambres<\/em> (2001), <em>White Man Sleeps<\/em> (2003), <em>Violon d&#8217;Ingres<\/em> (2005), <em>Insected<\/em> (2008), and <em>Replay Carmen<\/em> (2010).<\/p>\n<p>In 2009, he created <em>Sea Through<\/em> for Tulsa Ballet and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/ballet\/ismael\/\"><em>Isma\u00ebl<\/em><\/a> for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/company\/presentation\/\">B\u00e9jart Ballet Lausanne<\/a>. The same year, he won the Premio de Coreograf\u00eda de Danza de Madrid Villa 2009 for <em>Intersected<\/em>. In 2010, he created <em>It\u2019s been a honeymoon<\/em> for the Madrid Royal Conservatory and in 2011 <em>Blur<\/em> for Tulsa Ballet. In 2012, he created <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/ballet\/empreintes\/\"><em>Empreintes<\/em><\/a> for the B\u00e9jart Ballet Lausanne then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/ballet\/histoire-deux\/\"><em>Histoire d\u2019eux<\/em><\/a> in 2014, again for B\u00e9jart Ballet Lausanne.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Born in Nantes, France, Tony Fabre began to study ballet with the Conservatoire National.
