A great hit in December 2017, B\u00e9jart Ballet’s Dixit<\/em><\/a> returns to the Beaulieu Theater<\/a> in Lausanne from June\u00a011 to 16, 2019.<\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

This will be a double celebration for Gil Roman<\/a>‘s company, which will perform for the last time on the theatre’s stage\u00a0before it closes for renovation until 2021. Conceived as an absolute homage, Dixit<\/em>, a “Cinema-Ballet-Theatre” show, written and directed by Marc Hollogne, blends reality and virtuality, choreographies by Maurice B\u00e9jart<\/a> and Gil Roman, unreleased creations and archival films.<\/p>\n

Through the unique conversation between a film screen and the stage, Dixit<\/em> allows the past and the present of the Company to interact with each other. These filmed images from 28 years ago at BBL allow to replace today the choreographer at the heart of his company. We see and hear him again in conversation with his successor and his actual dancers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe idea behind the original work, <\/em>Dixit, is to explore the B\u00e9jart Ballet Lausanne allowing us to get closer to the source of inspiration. Where does it come from? How do we innovate without repeating ourselves? How do we translate captured inspirations into choreographic language? There are as many questions about how to grasp this creative process as how to dive into the imaginative minds of both Maurice B\u00e9jart and Gil Roman<\/em>.\u201d- Marc Hollogne<\/p>\n
