It honors &#8220;a public figure whose work has an exceptional impact on the Canton of Vaud, and thus makes a significant contribution to the State&#8217;s development&#8221;. In his address thanking the Canton, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/company\/gil-roman\/\">Gil Roman<\/a> included his company to the honor he received as well as the City of Lausanne, which enabled the company to flourish for over 30 years thanks to its financial support.<\/p>\n<p>Three other personalities were also recognized during the ceremony: Martine Monnat, Doctor, J\u00e9r\u00f4me Ak\u00e9 B\u00e9da, Master Sommelier, and Vera Michalski-Hoffmann, Publisher.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vd.ch\/toutes-les-actualites\/evenements\/merite-cantonal\/\">Cantonal Merit<\/a> is an honorific award that comes with a CHF 5000 check that the recipient donates to a public utility institution.
