{"id":30415,"date":"2021-07-26T10:27:11","date_gmt":"2021-07-26T08:27:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/?p=30415"},"modified":"2021-07-26T10:27:11","modified_gmt":"2021-07-26T08:27:11","slug":"end-of-the-2020-2021-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/end-of-the-2020-2021-season\/","title":{"rendered":"End of the 2020-2021 season"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>End of the 2020-2021 season | THANK YOU!<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 940px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-30415-1\" width=\"940\" height=\"788\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/FIN-DE-SAISON_FB-POST-1.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/FIN-DE-SAISON_FB-POST-1.mp4\">https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/FIN-DE-SAISON_FB-POST-1.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>The second half of the 2019-2020 season was hit by COVID-19, and the following season began in the fall with a lot of excitement: the premiere of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/ballet\/basso-continuum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Basso Continuum<\/em><\/a> at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opera-lausanne.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Op\u00e9ra de Lausanne<\/a>, the latest creation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/company\/gil-roman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gil Roman<\/a> (music by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.richarddubugnon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Richard Dubugnon<\/a>). However, the effects of the epidemic quickly put an end to any hopes of a return to normality, forcing us to interrupt our performance schedule.<\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We refused to give up and our desire to dance and to share never left us. This led to the development of new projects. The BBL launched its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/plan_b\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Plan_B<\/a> at the initiative of Gil Roman: a space dedicated to meetings and exchanges about the company&#8217;s current work. We had the pleasure to meet our local public in the heart of our main studio, equipped with a seating area, and all the necessary equipment to present extracts or ballets in performance conditions. We did not forget our loyal international friends. This is how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.tv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bejart.tv<\/a> was born, a VOD platform that allows you to watch excerpts of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/company\/maurice-bejart\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maurice B\u00e9jart<\/a> and Gil Roman&#8217;s works, documentaries and archives.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The epidemic is progressively subsiding and our season can end on a beautiful note! First, in Fribourg, where we were selected to be one of the first Swiss cultural institutions to participate in a pilot project led by the covid-19 delegation of the Fribourg State Council in preparation for the opening of major events. On June 26, the BBL performed at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equilibre-nuithonie.ch\/fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Equilibre<\/a> for a unique representation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/ballet\/ballet-for-life\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Ballet for life<\/em><\/a>. The audience, filled with enthusiasm and emotion, gave a triumphant welcome to Gil Roman&#8217;s company.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BBL then went to Como to inaugurate the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teatrosocialecomo.it\/it\/teatro\/news\/rinviato-lo-spettacolo-di-moni-ovadia-nel-parco-di-villa-olmo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Festival Como Citt\u00e0 della Musica<\/a>. A series of short pieces from Maurice B\u00e9jart&#8217;s repertoire were performed. Finally, on July 10, the company travelled by train to the South of France to begin its summer tour: four exceptional performances of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bejart.ch\/en\/ballet\/ballet-for-life\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ballet for life<\/a><\/em>, between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.festivaldecarcassonne.fr\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carcassonne<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.festivalperalada.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Peralada<\/a> (Spain) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.choregies.fr\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Orange<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This season was filled with emotions&#8230; we never lost our way during these challenging times because of your unfailing support. So we would simply like to say <strong>THANK YOU<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We look forward to a 2021-2022 season full of surprises.
