The 22-23 season kicked off on September 14, 2022 at the Teatro Regio<\/a> in Turin and ended last night in Martigny<\/a>, after the company’s second performance in the Roman Amphitheater that L\u00e9onard Gianadda loved so much. The program included Alors on danse… !<\/em> choreographed by the company’s Artistic Director Gil Roman<\/a>, The Firebird<\/em> and Maurice B\u00e9jart<\/a>‘s Bolero<\/em>: three of the 12 ballets<\/a> performed this season by the BBL’s 39 dancers<\/a> in front of 66,350 people in 20 cities across 5 countries!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The company’s 36th season featured ballets from Maurice B\u00e9jart’s repertoire (7 danses grecques<\/a>; Quatre pr\u00e9ludes pour violoncelle<\/a>; Liebe und Tod<\/a>; Bhakti III<\/a>; The Firebird<\/a>; Ballet for Life<\/a>; Bolero<\/a><\/em>) and Gil Roman’s (Tous les hommes presque toujours s’imaginent<\/a>; Alors on danse… !<\/a><\/em> ). This season’s highlights include the “premiere” of Wien, Wien, nur du Allein<\/em><\/a> by Maurice B\u00e9jart last December at the Beaulieu Theater in Lausanne, a ballet created in 1982 at the Cirque Royal in Brussels (the BBL had never danced the full version), and The other song of dance<\/em><\/a>, a piece presented last June at Beaulieu<\/a> by the Japanese choreographer Yuka Oishi<\/a>, inspired by her reading of Maurice B\u00e9jart’s book of the same name.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The B\u00e9jart Ballet Lausanne will return to its studios on August 14. The first performance of the 2023-2024 season<\/a> is scheduled for September 19 in Timi\u0219oara, followed by a carte blanche at Th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Jorat in M\u00e9zi\u00e8res<\/a> on September 30 (Basso Continuum<\/em><\/a> by Gil Roman, Bye bye baby blackbird<\/em><\/a> by Joost Vrouenraets<\/a> and The Firebird<\/em> by Maurice B\u00e9jart).
