Maurice Béjart, in a letter addressed to Pierre Boulez: “I am beginning to realize that I know very little,” he writes to him, “but if one day, much later on, I manage to perceive a coherent construction of this choreographic universe for which I have long been striving, it will truly be to you that I owe it. And if I were to name a master whose influence I could acknowledge, it would be you.”
