Riva & Repele is an artistic association founded by Simone Repele and Sasha Riva in 2020 in Geneva, Switzerland. After several years spent in professional ballet companies such as the Hamburg Ballet and the Ballet de Genève, they felt a strong need to express their own creativity.

Their unique qualities as performers and their desire to create led Simone and Sasha to collaborate as a team in search of a richer artistic language by combining their thoughts and their art. The choreographic works of Riva & Repele draw on a strong, sensitive, and poetic theatrical dimension. Stylized imagery is woven together through a neoclassical/contemporary vocabulary and a distinctive physicality.

Described as “poets of dance,” Riva & Repele made their debut with the full-length ballet Lili Elbe Show, which has already been performed in several theatres across Switzerland and Europe.

In 2021, they were the only foreign company selected by the Centro Coreográfico Canal, and were later featured again by the prestigious Festival Madrid en Danza. Riva & Repele had the opportunity to present their piece La Jeune Fille et Les Morts at the 2022 Noverre Gesellschaft, the renowned choreographic platform of the Stuttgart Ballet. Following their performance, the company’s management decided to include their choreography in the repertoire for the 2024/2025 season.

Since 2022, they have been collaborating with director Damiano Michieletto for the Caracalla Festival. Sasha and Simone are also sought after to create works for major international events such as Expo 2030, Ferrari, Vhernier, and concerts for various renowned singers. They are frequently invited to perform at international galas in countries such as Kazakhstan, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Argentina, and with the Opéra de Paris in French Guiana.

In 2023, they were selected by Orsolina28 for an artistic residency, during which they created their new production, Dear Son. This work, recently premiered in Geneva, began touring after its presentation at the prestigious Roma Europa Festival.

In 2024, they created their new choreography I Died for Love for the dancers of the Rome Opera and Peter Pan for the dancers of the Teatro Massimo in Palermo. Their upcoming projects will lead them to work with various international companies such as the Stuttgart Ballet, the Augsburg Ballet, and the Bejart Ballet Lausanne.
