Béjart Ballet Lausanne celebrates Theodorakis’ Greece and Béjart’s legacy, in a legendary setting at the heart of Athens

On September 18, 2025, the Béjart Ballet Lausanne will perform in Athens, in the exceptional setting of the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, at the foot of the Acropolis. The company will present two powerful works from the repertoire: Béjart et nous and 7 danses grecques.

Opening the evening is Béjart et nous, a dazzling journey through some of Maurice Béjart’s major works. Conceived by Julien Favreau, this creation brings together solos, duets and ensemble pieces, carried by the energy of today’s dancers. A living and vibrant tribute to the Master’s legacy.

The evening continues with 7 danses grecques, choreographed to the music of Mikis Theodorakis and presented in celebration of the composer’s centenary. In this stripped-down and deeply inhabited piece, Maurice Béjart explores the essence of the Greek soul — far from folkloric clichés, in search of authenticity and inner strength.

Two unique evenings, where light, dance and emotion meet under the stars of Athens.
