7 danses grecques by Maurice Béjart, the new creation Real Love by Andonis Foniadakis and another piece, soon to be unveiled in Théâtre du Jorat, at Mézières in Switzerland.

Following their last visit in 2023, the Béjart Ballet Lausanne will return to the stage of the Théâtre du Jorat on September 25 and 27, 2026, for two exceptional performances, bringing together three works that span heritage and creation.

The evening opens with the company performing 7 danses grecques by Maurice Béjart, set to music by Mikis Theodorakis. Created in 1983, this piece has become a true gem of the repertoire: a ballet of great precision, demanding impeccable classical technique from its performers, fueled by vibrant, intensely radiant energy. It is a work that passionately celebrates the soul and light of Greece. “A ballet in which Greece, according to the Greeks, is all the more present because the borrowings from its folklore are minimal…,” recalled Maurice Béjart.

Next comes a new creation. In the 1990s, a young Greek dancer was discovered in Athens by Maurice Béjart and joined the studios of the Presbytère. From those years of training and passion emerges Real Love, the new creation by Andonis Foniadakis. Set to the music of Depeche Mode, the piece electrifies the stage with a mix of exhilaration and nostalgia. Written on pointe, it combines the rigor of classical vocabulary with the choreographer’s explosive physicality: an intense, organic dance, celebrating youth and the inner fire.
A third work will complete the program of these two exceptional evenings.
