During the Béjart Ballet Lausanne’s tour in Japan, the Company and its artistic director Gil Roman join again the Tokyo Ballet to perform two exceptional galas in remembrance of Maurice Béjart who passed away on November 22, 2007.

Danced by the BBL, t ’M et variations…, the latest work of the current director, is a ballet where steps are as just much words addressed to Maurice Béjart. A series of variations on the themes of encounters, friendships, love that bind humans together and the interior necessity for dance. “It is Maurice’s heritage as I see it and how it continues to live thanks to this organism that is the Company”.

For the second part of the performance, the two companies gather around Maurice Béjart. Reunited by Gil Roman, a series of intertwined pas de deux(s) and excerpts of the choreographer’s works commemorate his taste for celebration and humanity.
