May 2018: Interview of Gil Roman with the Art & Culture Development Foundation in Tashkent, during the BBL tour in Uzbekistan.

“What I try to share from Maurice Béjart’s work are meaningful ballets which inspire me to create new ballets.
To maintain a sense of direction, I believe it’s important to not only draw from the repertoire.
My dancers need to dance on masterpieces but they are all alive today and also need ballets built around them. It is their vitality which keeps Maurice alive today.”
