From 18 to 23 December 2026, the Béjart Ballet Lausanne celebrates in Lausanne the opening of its anniversary seasons, marking 100 years since the birth of Maurice Béjart and 40 years of the company, through a series of exceptional performances at the Théâtre de Beaulieu.

Placed under the aegis of Mozart, this Lausanne rendez-vous brings to light a vibrant dialogue between contemporary creation and the Béjartian heritage. Carried by the exceptional presence of the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne and the Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne, gathered on stage alongside three soloists, these performances take on a rare musical dimension, where dance and live music respond to one another with power and emotion.

The evening opens with Lux Æterna, a creation by Étienne Béchard. Set within a scenography evoking a train station a place of passage the piece captures those suspended moments where trajectories cross and everything can shift: a departure, a wait, a decision. Carried by the power of Mozart’s Requiem, the work will traverse with intensity the tensions that inhabit us, between stillness and movement.

In echo, Maurice Béjart’s Mozart Tangos unfolds the full richness of his choreographic language. The purity of pointe work, carried by Mozart’s music, enters into dialogue with the carnal power of

Argentine tangos, embodied by male dancers. Between refinement and intensity, rigour and abandon, the work reveals a vibrant choreographic writing where contrasts respond to and enrich one another, bringing to light the full modernity of his language.

This series of performances marks the launch of these anniversary seasons and offers audiences a unique artistic experience, set to become a landmark moment in Lausanne’s cultural landscape.
