t ‘M et variations… by Gil Roman and Béjart fête Maurice at Teatro de la Maestranza, Seville

Eighteen years since its last venue, the Béjart Ballet Lausanne will be performing on July 15, 2022, at the Palazzo Mauro De Andrè during the Ravenna Festival in Italy. On this occasion, the company will present t ‘M et variations… by Gil Roman and Béjart fête Maurice, excerpts of the founder’s repertoire.

Gil Roman created t ‘M et variations… in the form of a journal addressed to Maurice Béjart. A ballet imagined in a series of variations on the theme of Love and the inner necessity of Dance. Fifty minutes – a novel – of pure dancing, the shock and the encounter of humans, friendships and love that link us together. And reconnects us… Towards and against all. Sometimes against everyone. Life, as always! A radical, fascinating choreography, a chronicle that reveals a festive day.

In Béjart fête Maurice, Gil Roman chose excerpts of ballets from Maurice Béjart, like the preparation of a party. A festive show which takes us into a journey through the universe of the Company’s founder. A series of pas de deux interlaced with excerpts from several ballets, Béjart fête Maurice, is a light rhapsody, a celebration, a ceremony!
