For Sanfilippo Foundation Switzerland 10th Anniversary, BBL will present t ‘M et variations… by Gil Roman and Boléro by Maurice Béjart at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva.

After 5 years, Béjart Ballet Lausanne returns to Geneva for a Gala to celebrate Sanfilippo Foundation’s 10th anniversary. At the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices, the program will be composed of two parts: t’ M et variations…, a creation by Gil Roman and Boléro by Maurice Béjart. The show will be followed by a cocktail reception and an auction for those who wish to support the Foundation’s activities. Tickets – for the show only as well as for the entire anniversary event (show, cocktail reception, auction) – are now available on ticketcorner.ch, the only official ticketing service.

Gil Roman presents t ’M et variations…, a ballet where every step is a word addressed to Maurice. Page after page under the form of a diary, the choreographer offers a series of variations about love and the internal need for dance. Fifty minutes – a novel – of pure dancing, the shock and the encounter of humans, friendships and love that link us together. And reconnects us…Towards and against all. Sometimes against everyone. Life, as always! A radical, fascinating choreography, a chronicle that reveals a festive day.

The show ends with Boléro, choreographed in 1961 by Maurice Béjart, on Maurice Ravel’s music. The central role – la Mélodie – is sometimes given to a female dancer and other times to a male dancer. The rhythm is interpreted by a group of male dancers.

The Sanfilippo Foundation Switzerland is a Swiss private law and non profit foundation that aims to promote innovative research programs in order to provide an effective therapeutic treatment for children affected from mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS), in particular type III, the Sanfilippo disease. It is a rare, degenerative and unfortunately still incurable disease. This disease leaves children with a very limited life expectancy. In parallel, the Foundation conducts an active outreach campaign to raise awareness and increase knowledge on the problems of rare diseases.
