The Rite of Spring, The Firebird and Boléro by Maurice Béjart at Forest National in Brussels, Belgium

From November 11 to 14, 2027, Béjart Ballet Lausanne returns to Forest National in Brussels as part of its anniversary seasons. In this city, deeply connected to its founder’s history, the company will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Maurice Béjart’s birth as well as the 40th anniversary of its founding, with a program entirely dedicated to Béjart’s works.

More than twelve years after its last performances there, Béjart Ballet Lausanne will present one of the most iconic ballets in its repertoire: The Rite of Spring. Set to the music of Igor Stravinsky, this powerful and visceral work explores primitive forces and sacrifice through a choreography of rare intensity that has profoundly shaped the history of dance.

In the second half of the evening, The Firebird, carried by Stravinsky’s blazing score, unfolds a choreographic fresco blending energy, hope, and transformation. Béjart brings forth a radiant, fiery figure symbol of renewal and vital momentum through a style that is both powerful and deeply inhabited.

The evening will conclude with the unmissable Boléro, set to Maurice Ravel’s mesmerizing composition. On an iconic circular table, a soloist gradually draws the group into an irresistible crescendo. Between tension, repetition, and release, this hypnotic work captivates through its relentless structure and collective intensity.
