BBL reveals its Plan_B

Plan_B, a new space at Chemin du Presbytère 12 that was imagined by Gil Roman for the Béjart Ballet Lausanne: a place where the audience can meet the performers and admire choreographic experiments that are open to the public.

The Béjart Ballet Lausanne reveals its Plan_B

Gil Roman and the Béjart Ballet Lausanne have been deprived of a stage and an audience since the beginning of the pandemic. Today, they unveil Plan_B, a project imagined by the company’s Artistic Director:
___a space for encounters and
___choreographic experiments
___located in the heart of the company’s mythical dance studio

Plan_B was entirely built during the renovation of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne’s historic building. The space has a seating area that can welcome up to 110 people inside the company’s main studio. The Artistic Director of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne invites the public to join him to share creative moments, admire choreographic creations, and see the dancers perform ballets or excerpts in actual rehearsal conditions.

On Tuesday September 1, 2020, Plan_B was presented to the press in the presence of Mr. Grégoire Junod, Mayor of Lausanne: this was an opportunity for both partners to celebrate the renewal of the Convention that has connected the famous dance institution with the City that has been hosting and supporting it for more than 30 years.

Gil Roman will present a series of events for the general audience, schools, companies and institutions until December. These events will highlight the daily work of the dancers.

________The Plan_B program will be announced in mid-September________

The BBL remains mindful of public health considerations and will limit admission to half of the space’s capacity by blocking one seat out of two. Additional protective measures include the mandatory use of a mask to enter the building and for the entire duration of the presentations, as well as the availability of hydroalcoholic gel on the premises. Plan_B will also be ventilated between presentations.

The entrance is free, but a donation hat will be available for those who wish to support the BBL’s work.

Plan_B: Béjart Ballet Lausanne, chemin du Presbytère 12, 1004 Lausanne.
