Born on July 4th, 1966, in Francavilla Fontana, Italy, Domenico Levré began his training in 1973 at the Accademia di Danza Tersicore de Brindisi, under Antonella di Lecce’s directorship. He pursued his professional dance training from 1981 to 1986 at the Princess Grace Academy of Monte Carlo, under Marika Besobrasova directorship. In 1982, he became the first laureate of the prestigious John Gilpin study scholarship, awarded by his highness the Princess Antoinette. In 1986, he joined the Ballett Basel under Heinz Spoerli’s directorship and danced numerous important roles from the company’s repertoire. He also danced works from guest choreographers, such as William Forsythe, Nacho Duato and Hans van Manen.

Domenico joined the Béjart Ballet Lausanne in 1991. Maurice Béjart had him dance principal roles in many ballets, including The Rite of Spring, The Firebird, Le Chant du compagnon errant, Nutcracker, The Magic Flute and Bhakti. In addition, he participated in the creation of Le Mandarin merveilleux, Ballet for Life, and La Route de la Soie.

Since 2009, he is répétiteur of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, and since 2013, also stage manager.
